What is THC Syrup?
THC syrup is simply syrup infused with tetrahydrocannabinol, a type of psychoactive compound derived from cannabis plants. There are actually several variations of THC, such as Delta-8 and Delta-9, along with similar compounds like THCP and THCA. However, THC most often refers to delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol- or Delta-9 for short. The syrup is a thick, sticky, viscous solution that consists primarily of sugar and water. Many different forms of syrup can serve as the vehicle for cannabis infusion, whether it be maple, cane, corn, or agave. With so many different cannabinoids and syrups, there is an extensive range of products on the market. Some bottles are labeled "THC lean," which is a reference to a hazardous beverage that is an inaccurate parallel to real THC syrup. You should avoid brands that label their syrup this way. Our THC syrup consists of a few simple, natural ingredients: nano-emulsified MCT oil, nano-emulsified Delta-9 THC, organic agave syrup, and water. Using nano-emulsified versions of MCT oil and Delta-9 makes them water-soluble and more easily absorbed into the bloodstream. The effects- which can include euphoria, relaxation, and heightened senses, to name a few- therefore have a faster onset than edibles.
How do you use THC Syrup?
You can enjoy THC syrup in the same way you would any other syrup— except that since you're working with a psychoactive compound, you'll want to practice discretion with your servings. We recommend using a measuring spoon when serving to guarantee a precise amount of Delta-9. Our product pages and packaging come with helpful dosage charts for this. You can put THC syrup on pancakes, use it in place of granulated sugar or as a vegan substitute for honey, incorporate it into your favorite recipe, or just savor a spoonful. The most important consideration when using THC syrup in the kitchen is to be aware of Delta-9 THC's boiling point of 311–315 °F. In some instances, if you cook with THC syrup, the compound may boil off when it reaches this temperature, thus wasting the THC. However, if you are baking with it, the THC can be preserved if the internal temperature of what you're cooking doesn't reach this vs. the external temperature of the oven.
What can you mix THC syrup with?
You can mix THC syrup with just about anything. We love using it in mocktails that call for some sort of sweetener, or perhaps a latte where you would add sugar or a pump of vanilla syrup. The best way to enjoy THC syrup is to substitute it in recipes that call for granulated sugar or honey. However, whatever you want to mix THC syrup with is limited to your imagination and personal taste preferences.
How long do THC syrup effects last?
The effects of THC syrup, and the duration thereof, will depend on the cannabis extracts used. Our syrup bottles, for example, contain nano-emulsified Delta-9 THC. Often called "fast-acting THC," this compound's high typically lasts for a few hours but not as long as Delta-9 distillate, which can last up to ~12 hours. However, it should be noted that everyone processes cannabinoids differently. If you're trying THC syrup for the first time, do so in a safe, controlled environment before a day off from work or other obligations.
How long does it take for THC syrup to kick in?
Because our THC syrup contains nano-emulsified Delta-9, the effects can set in as short as 15 minutes. However, metabolizing THC is a complicated physiological process that will vary from person to person. Factors such as your experience with cannabis and whether you have a full or empty stomach can affect the onset of effects.
