What are THC Drinks?
THC drinks are
non-alcoholic beverages that contain any form of tetrahydrocannabinol. The term "THC" alone usually refers to Delta-9, the most prevalent form of the cannabinoid. However, THC drinks can also contain Delta-8 and other
types of THC.
Any beverage that contains THC can offer psychoactive effects such as relaxation, euphoria, laughter, and others. Compared to alcohol, these cannabinoid-infused beverages are often lower-calorie, but it's best to check the label to confirm their nutritional value.
What is in THC Drinks?
The basis of our Delta-9 seltzers and drink mixes is
water-soluble, nano-emulsified Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, which can offer a faster onset of effects at around 15 minutes after consumption. However, onsets can shift due to various factors. Besides
nano THC, these beverages also may contain carbonated water, natural flavors, and even other cannabinoids such as CBD or CBN.
How long do THC Drinks last?
There are two possible answers to this question. Regarding "lasting" in terms of shelf-life, it's always best to go by the expiration date on the packaging of a THC-infused drink.
In terms of duration of effects, THC drinks can last as long as edibles (8 hours or more in some cases). It's best to try such products at night before you have a day off from work (or just no obligations in general) to gauge how long the effects of these products last.
How long do THC Drinks take to kick in?
With nano-emulsified THC, it is possible for one to feel the effects in around 15 minutes after enjoying the beverage. But it's best to keep in mind that various factors can affect the onset of effects. For example, drinking a THC beverage on a full stomach may cause a slower onset.
Are THC Drinks Legal?
Yes, THC drinks are legal, but the legality of cannabis beverages will vary depending on whether the THC is hemp-derived or marijuana-derived. Also, the concentration of Delta-9 in the drink cannot exceed 0.3% of its dry weight.
As of this writing, hemp is the only form of cannabis that is legal on a federal level, which means that it's within the boundaries of the law to ship these products across state lines.
