What You Need to Know

On March 3, 2025, the Texas Senate passed SB3, a bill with the intent to ban all forms of hemp-derived THC in the Lone Star State. As of this writing, the bill still needs to pass through the House and Gov. Greg Abbott must sign it into law.

We have long anticipated that SB3 would pass in the Senate, and our current goal is to prevent it from passing in the House. We can stop this attempt at prohibition, but only with your help.

If SB3 Passes it will:

❌ Ban hemp products you love.

Hemp-derived products will be wiped off Texas shelves.

❌ Crush local businesses

Businesses will be forced to close, putting 53,000 Texans out of work.

❌ Limit access to wellness

Legal, plant-based alternatives will no longer be available.

Know the Talking Points

Before contacting your representative, please consider the following:

Communicate in a polite tone
Be sure to identify yourself by name, address, and ZIP code to confirm you are a constituent
Bring up one or more of the following points:
- “I am an adult consumer of hemp products.”
- “I do not wish to participate in the Texas Compassionate Use Program because it limits my choices, is expensive and is inconvenient. That program is a state-sanctioned monopoly.”
- “I use hemp products for [LIST REASONS], eliminating my options would cause me to [LIST PERSONAL IMPACT].”
- “The legislature should not be depriving adults of access to natural products they choose to use.”
- “The Texas Hemp industry is already federally and state-legal and regulated by the Texas Department of State Health Services.”
- “Americans believe in personal responsibility and freedom—SB3 is the opposite of that.”
- “There are no products that work as well as Hemp for me, and no one has ever died from Hemp products.”
- “The State of Texas will incur a cost of at least $764 million in lost sales tax revenue and the cost of unemployment assistance for the 53,000 lost jobs if SB3 passes.”

On the phone, try to speak with your legislator or the highest-ranking official.
