So if you have been a fan of Delta-8 in the past, stick around as we discover more about hemp-derived Delta-9, and answer this common question—is Delta-9 THC legal in Wyoming?
Prepare for the excitement because Delta-9 THC is legal in Wyoming. If this sounds like news to you, let’s break it down from the beginning. Hemp became federally legal at the end of 2018 when the 2018 Farm Bill was signed into law. As of this writing, hemp production and hemp products are federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill.
Along with other states, Wyoming followed suit, and in 2019, Wyoming passed House Bill 0171. This bill follows federal hemp guidelines, especially their view on hemp-derived Delta-9. According to federal and Wyoming law, if a hemp product contains more than 0.3% of Delta-9 concentrations on a dry weight basis, it will be illegal and considered “weed”.
You must be 21 years or older to purchase hemp products in Wyoming.

Although Delta-8 THC and Delta-9 THC are both forms of THC, they have some glaring differences. Delta-8 is known for feeling lighter and more noticeable than CBD, whereas Delta-9 offers a more euphoric experience, and there’s a reason for it. But keep in mind that the effects of cannabinoids can vary from person to person.
Delta 8 and Delta 9 both bind to the CB1 and CB2 receptors after they have been consumed, but they bind to our receptors differently because they have their own chemical arrangement. Delta 8 has its double bond located on the eighth carbon chain, while Delta 9 is located on the ninth carbon chain. The location of the double bond gives these cannabinoids a distinct difference in the effects that they have to offer.
If you don’t have experience with hemp-derived Delta-9 gummies, you may not know what to expect, and that’s okay. Our bodies are different, which means we all process chemicals in our own way. Although there are no guaranteed effects after using Delta-9, here are some effects cannabis enthusiasts have reported feeling:
Many factors may affect how you respond to the effects, but knowing how much you should take is the first step. If it is your first time trying Delta-9, we recommend consuming a small amount. Consuming more than what your body can tolerate may lead you to feeling “overwhelmed” and could put a damper on the entire experience.
In general, Delta-9 is safe when consumed appropriately and responsibly. To encourage a stress-free experience, make sure to complete all of your errands and tasks before taking Delta 9 THC because once you have consumed it, you cannot drive a vehicle or operate any heavy machinery.
If you have little to no experience with hemp, it is best to consume a small amount. Overindulging in Delta-9 may give you a ride that you don’t want to take again, but if you are in this position, buckle up and embrace it.
Remember, these effects are temporary and will go away in a few hours. The best thing to do is keep your mind occupied. We recommend binging a series, taking a nap, or listening to music.
