What’s Delta-9 THC?

We know through research that there are over 113 cannabinoids that can be extracted from hemp. Some of the more common ones you may have heard of are Delta 9 or CBD, otherwise known as cannabidiol.

Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol used to only be associated with marijuana. However, this is not the case. Delta-9 THC is found in both hemp and marijuana plants.

You can find hemp-derived Delta-9 in a variety of quantities that still remain within the legal limit. For example, our Select Spectrum Cocoa Squares have 300mg of hemp-derived Delta-9, but the cannabinoid does not consist of more than 0.3% of the product’s dry weight.

Is Delta 9 Safe?

When used correctly and moderately, Delta-9 is generally safe. But with that in mind, you should not operate a vehicle or heavy machinery after taking Delta-9 or any other products containing THC.

When it comes to the physical dangers of Delta-9, there is very little threat. However, people have reported feeling a bit “overwhelmed” if they take too much. To avoid this, make sure to start with a small amount, and only take more if you feel like you need to.

Like anything else, moderation is crucial when trying Delta-9. If you may have accidentally taken too much, find an enjoyable activity to ease your mind. If you need some ideas, we recommend listening to music, reading a book, or watching a movie.
