What is Delta-8 THC?

The cannabis plant is rich in aromatic terpenes and naturally occurring compounds called cannabinoids, the most commonly discussed of which are cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Unlike Delta-9 THC, the concentration levels of Delta-8 THC in a product on a dry-weight basis are not federally regulated. Will Delta-8 Show Up On a Drug Test?

Drug tests are designed to detect metabolites, specifically those produced by your body after consuming THC. Although hemp-derived Delta-8 is legal on a federal level, a drug test will not show whether metabolites were used to break down Delta-8 THC from hemp or Delta-8 THC from marijuana. Therefore, it is best to avoid consuming any products containing hemp-derived cannabinoids if there's a drug test in the near future.
