What is Select Spectrum? - The Ultimate Guide
Haven't heard of "Select Spectrum" before?
There's a good reason for that.
It's a whole new class of hemp products that we created.
So if you're a hemp enthusiast and you're looking to try out an entirely new type of product, you're in the right place.
Here, we're going to tell you everything you need to know about Select Spectrum.
We're going to cover topics such as:
- What is Select Spectrum?
- What are the effects of Select Spectrum products?
- How are Select Spectrum products legal?
- The purpose of Select Spectrum products
- Where to buy Select Spectrum products
Let's go.
What Is Select Spectrum?

Select Spectrum is a type of product that uses hemp-derived cannabinoids in a select balance for an optimal outcome.
These products have 10mg of CBD, 10mg of Delta 9 THC, and other cannabinoids for the ideal entourage effect.
When something is labeled as "Select Spectrum," it just means:
- It has a blend of cannabinoids instead of just one prominent cannabinoid
- All the cannabinoids are extracted from hemp
- The blend contains CBD, Delta-9 THC, and other cannabinoids
So what are some of the effects of Select Spectrum products?
We're going to cover that next.
What Are The Effects of Select Spectrum Products?
So here's the thing to keep in mind with cannabinoid and hemp products:
Everyone reacts differently.
Select Spectrum is meant to have the optimal entourage effect.
However, because the blend contains CBD and Delta 9 THC, it can have a psychoactive effect.
At Hometown Hero, we always recommend starting out with a small amount when trying any hemp or cannabinoid product. This way, you can see how you react before proceeding any further. So keep in mind that finding the right amount can differ from person to person.
With all of this mention of the "entourage effect," you're probably wondering:
"What is an entourage effect?"
Great question! Let's break it down for you.
By themselves, cannabinoids have their own distinct properties.
When together, they can "bring out the best" in each other in a certain way.
This type of interaction or synergy between cannabinoids is known as the entourage effect.
Again, it's important to note that the effects of cannabinoids vary from person to person.
On top of this, how cannabinoids are consumed and how much is consumed plays a significant role.
We hate to sound like a broken record, but we'll repeat it.
Always start out small when trying cannabinoids. This same principle applies to our Select Spectrum products.
"Interesting...so will these products get people ‘high?'"
Select Spectrum products contain:
- CBD
- Delta-9 THC
- Other cannabinoids
This combination is likely to have a psychoactive effect.
Avoid activities such as driving when taking them.
"Okay, okay, got it. So...will I fail a drug test after eating Select Spectrum gummies?"
Another great question! So let's start off with hemp and hemp legalization.
Hemp was legalized on a federal level with the 2018 Farm Bill. The legal definition of hemp is that it's cannabis with a 0.3% or lower concentration of Delta-9 THC on a dry weight basis.
Since then, other states have legalized hemp with the same distinction for the plant.
The drug tests we have today were designed for a different time.
Multipanel drug tests and tests that specifically target marijuana are looking for THC metabolites.
Basically, they're not looking for THC but rather the compounds produced by the body that break down THC.
These tests will not differentiate whether the metabolites were breaking down Delta-9 THC from hemp or from marijuana.
The only distinction between the two is a legal one.
At Hometown Hero, we advise enthusiasts to stay away from Select Spectrum products when anticipating a drug test.
So that pretty much sums up the effects of Select Spectrum products:
- The Select Spectrum blend is meant to have an optimal entourage effect
- Cannabinoids affect everyone differently
- Always start out small when trying a new hemp product
- The blend of CBD and Delta-9 is likely to have a psychoactive effect
- DO NOT take Select Spectrum products if you have a drug test coming up
The Legality of Select Spectrum Products

So now you're wondering about what makes Select Spectrum products legal.
In short, Select Spectrum products fall under the definition of hemp, not marijuana.
Hemp and marijuana were legally separated from one another because of the 2018 Farm Bill.
All the cannabinoids used in our Select Spectrum products have been derived from hemp. None of these products exceed the 0.3% Delta-9 concentration limit.
"So how can Select Spectrum have 10mg Delta 9 THC?"
Delta-9 THC is not illegal in every circumstance.
Hemp, as defined by federal law, is simply cannabis with a Delta-9 THC concentration at no more than 0.3% on a dry weight basis.
All hemp cannabinoids fall under the legal definition of hemp so long as the Delta-9 THC remains at or below that specific level.
Anything above that level is considered to be "marijuana."
Select Spectrum products meet both criteria to be federally compliant:
- The cannabinoids used in them are extracted from hemp
- The Delta 9 THC concentration in them is below 0.3% Delta 9 THC
We'll even break down the Select Spectrum Mango Gummies for you.
Each Select Spectrum gummy weighs 6 grams (6,000 milligrams).
This means they can legally have up to 18mg of Delta 9 THC.
Each Select Spectrum Mango Gummy only has 10mg of Delta 9.
We're not trying to push any limits here. Just offering a product that promotes the entourage effect.
That's it.
Why Make Select Spectrum Products?
With the introduction of Select Spectrum products, we're offering an alternative to other hemp products we offer.
It's not that Select Spectrum is better or anything.
The truth is that some people may prefer Select Spectrum, some will prefer Delta-8, and others just like their CBD. And that's all okay!
We're just hoping to open the door for hemp enthusiasts or some newcomers.
Just like Delta-8, make sure that hemp-derived cannabinoids are legal in your state and that you've done your research.
"What is the purpose of Select Spectrum blend?"
Interesting question!
At Hometown Hero, our previous products were focused on just one specific cannabinoid (Delta-8 or CBD).
We wanted to create a product that was more of a blend of different cannabinoids. As mentioned before, when together, these cannabinoids can have a type of "synergy."
"Who are these products for?"
Select Spectrum products are for hemp enthusiasts or those interested in hemp products who are 21 years or older.
"What does Select Spectrum offer that Delta 8 does not?"
It's not that one is better than the other.
They're just different.
Our Delta-8 products specifically focus on promoting the desirable effects of one particular cannabinoid.
The Select Spectrum products are about the effects produced by the combination of different cannabinoids.
Where to Purchase Select Spectrum Products

Hometown Hero launched our first Select Spectrum product, the Select Spectrum Mango Gummies, on July 28, 2021.
As of this writing, Select Spectrum products are only available from Hometown Hero.
You can only purchase Select Spectrum products from the Hometown Hero website or your favorite retailer that offers Hometown Hero products.
Again, some states have restrictions on hemp-derived cannabinoids, so be sure to brush up on your local laws.
As for more options for Select Spectrum, we started off with Mango gummies because...well...who doesn't like mangoes? But be on the lookout for new flavors that may pop up.
As far as different mediums for the Select Spectrum blend, we'll look into other options.
