Notes and Tips
These cupcakes are freezer-friendly. Instead of frosting them after they cool, wrap each one with plastic wrap and place them in a plastic bag. The cupcakes will stay fresh for up to 3 months. When you’re ready to serve them, simply set the bag in the refrigerator overnight to thaw. Then make some frosting the next day and serve.
You can easily make this recipe gluten-free by using gluten-free flour. It is a 1:1 substitute of all-purpose flour, certified gluten-free, and truly makes the best GF cakes ever.
If you want to make this recipe dairy-free, replace the milk with your favorite milk substitute and add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar. Once you combine the vinegar with the milk substitute, let sit for 5 minutes. If you want to make the frosting dairy-free, we recommend finding dairy-free butter and the dairy-free milk of your choice.
We got you covered if you want to make this egg-free too. Replace each egg with 1/4 cup of unseated applesauce.
If the frosting appears too wet, add a tablespoon of confectioner’s sugar until it is consistent. However, if it’s too dry, add more milk.
Hemp cupcakes are fun, but if you’re looking to confidently eat an entire cupcake without feeling like you went overboard, use less cannabutter and replace it with vegetable oil.
