Origins of White Rhino

White Rhino was first bred in the 1990s by the Green House Seed Company in Amsterdam. Its parent strains are White Widow, a hybrid, and Afghani, an indica landrace strain. When you hear the term "landrace" to describe a strain, it means that a strain has developed naturally within an area over a long period of time and tends to be the "purest" renditions of indica or sativa. For example, Acapulco Gold is a landrace from Acapulco, Mexico, and Thai originates from Thailand.

Is White Rhino Indica or Sativa?

Whether "indica" or "sativa" in terms of cannabis variants exists is a whole other debate. According to U.S. law, all hemp is "Cannabis sativa L." However, if you were to ask around, most enthusiasts would consider White Rhino as an indica due to its terpene profile and the relaxing effects many associate with it

White Rhino Effects

Most effects associated with strains are purely from word-of-mouth. If you are truly curious about the effects of White Rhino, the best method is to just try it out for yourself. However, generally speaking, the following effects are associated with White Rhino:
So, with that in mind, White Rhino may be the prime candidate for a cozy night of watching comedies with some takeout.

White Rhino Terpenes

You can find terpenes in various fruits, vegetables, and other plant life, including cannabis. They're plant compounds that give various species their distinct scent. However, with cannabis, a growing body of research has uncovered that these terpenes may affect the overall effects delivered by the strain.

Below are the dominant terpenes in our White Rhino products:
  • Myrcene - "herbal"
  • Caryophyllene - "peppery"
  • Humulene - "spicy"

As mentioned above we currently have two products featuring the White Rhino terpene profile in hemp-derived live rosin or hemp-derived live resin.

"White Rhino hemp?"

Scientifically speaking, there is no difference between hemp and marijuana. The two plants belong to the same species. "Hemp" and "marijuana" are legal terms used in the United States. Hemp is cannabis with a 0.3% or lower concentration of Delta-9 THC by dry weight, and marijuana is cannabis with any concentration higher than this.

Growers will use selective breeding processes to produce White Rhino hemp so that the strain's terpene profile is intact, but the plant itself falls within the 0.3% or lower Delta-9 THC threshold.

Conclusion

White Rhino is a classic strain with a notable debut at the 1996 Cannabis Cup. Since then, it has been a favorite among cannabis connoisseurs for winding down and good laughs. Generally, White Rhino is associated with unwinding, but the best way to know its effects is to get acquainted with it yourself. If you want to try White Rhino, you can produce it with White Rhino concentrate in an edible and inhalable format.

Until next time, happy exploring and Mind Your Mind.
