Delta 8 THC Tinctures

Delta-8 THC is a minor cannabinoid- a naturally occurring compound found in small amounts in cannabis plants (hemp and marijuana). Of course, all of our Delta-8 THC products use Delta-8 THC derived from hemp and are therefore federally legal according to the 2018 Farm Bill.

Delta-8 offers mild psychoactive effects and body-focused relief. It tends to exhibit lower potency than other forms of THC, so although it does produce a high, it is less intense. Effects vary on an individual basis, but most consumers find that Delta-8 tinctures produce subtle, yet relaxing, mind-and-body effects.

Delta-8 tinctures have a faster onset of effects than the average edible. This is because the lipid-rich oil base boosts your body's bioavailability, or absorption of cannabinoids. Plus, with sublingual application, the tissue under the tongue absorbs the Delta-8, leading into the bloodstream quicker than it would with edibles, which have to pass through the digestive system. But generally speaking, Delta-8 tinctures "work" like any other cannabinoid product: by interacting with the body's CB receptors. You see, the human body has a vast network of chemical messengers and receptors called the endocannabinoid system (ECS). The purpose of this system is to maintain stable internal conditions by regulating various bodily functions, including appetite, pain perception, memory, and reward processes. To do this, the ECS sends signals using internal compounds called “endocannabinoids." Delta-8 THC is a "phytocannabinoid," where "phyto" means it comes from the cannabis plant. These phytocannabinoids are similar enough to the endocannabinoids your body naturally produces that they're able to interact with the ECS. So when you use a tincture, the interactions between the phytocannabinoids and your ECS bring about pleasurable effects like relief and euphoria, among others.

Delta-8 tincture oil can be taken sublingually (by placing droplets underneath the tongue) or mixed into a food item or a beverage. There are plenty of creative recipes incorporating flavored or unflavored Delta-8 tinctures. For example, you can craft a minty THC-infused milkshake using our Mint Delta-8 Tincture or creamy sorbet using our Berry Delta-8 Tincture. Since Delta-8 oil is already in an easy-to-use liquid format, you don't have to decarb the cannabis bud beforehand or do any prep work. This makes Delta-8 tinctures some of the easiest cannabis products you can use for recipes and homemade edibles.

The onset of the effects of Delta-8 THC will vary from person to person, and depend on the method of consumption. The effects of Delta-8 tinctures will be faster than Delta-8 edibles when taken sublingually. But if you add a few drops of Delta-8 tincture to a food item, it becomes an edible, and thus the onset of effects (how long it takes to kick in) will be in the same range. One thing to consider is that Delta-8 tinctures are more than just oil with THC. The different ingredients (for example, MCT oil from organic coconuts) will also play a role.

Most manufacturers use amber-toned glass for their Delta-8 tinctures. This type of glass protects the product from light and deterioration. But you will still want to store your Delta-8 tinctures in a cool place out of direct sunlight. Make sure to tightly close the cap after each use.

Delta-8 tinctures are generally considered safe, but any products containing THC are only meant for responsible use by adults 21 and older. You might feel "overwhelmed" if you consume too much of a Delta-8 tincture at once, but there is a low threat of physical danger. Please consult your doctor if you are considering any hemp-derived product and always follow the recommended use instructions. Do not drive or operate machinery after you have consumed oil from a Delta-8 tincture. Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to become pregnant should best avoid Delta-8 tinctures or any product with cannabinoids. There is no such thing as "childproof packaging" for any product, including Delta-8. Child-resistant packaging exists, but again, nothing is "childproof." We cannot overstate that Delta-8, or any products containing cannabinoids, need to be left out of the reach of children.

With cannabis products, you should determine serving size, AKA "dosage," based on your own experience level or tolerance.
