Green Wednesday - Cannabis Black Friday: 2022 Update

The end of the year is chock full of holidays, and so is cannabis. Of course, you have 4/20, but you also have Dab Day (7/10), CBD Day (8/8), Delta-8 Day (12/8), and probably many other “cannabis days.”

So what is Green Wednesday?

That's what we're going to answer in this blog post. And you can also bet that at Hometown Hero, we'll have some special discounts for this year's Green Wednesday!

So let's dive right in!

What is Green Wednesday?

In short, Green Wednesday is the day before Thanksgiving, when cannabis enthusiasts stock up for the long weekend or build up a stash for the holiday season.

Because let's face it...things can get a bit hectic. 

So why do people build up a stash before Thanksgiving?

The real question is...why wouldn't they?

Thanksgiving is probably the perfect holiday (besides 4/20 and the others) to enjoy Delta-8, HHC, and hemp-derived Delta-9 THC.

Having a bit of hemp-derived Delta-9 before the meal, such as Select Spectrum or Live Rosin, can give you a greater appreciation for the Thanksgiving staples.

Plus, a bit of unwinding can help break the ice between you and family members at the table (especially if they partake as well).

And let's not forget—you can infuse food with hemp-derived THC!

Where Does the Green Wednesday Term Come From?

So why do people call it Green Wednesday?

The term "Green Wednesday" was first coined back in 2016 when many dispensaries noticed a significant uptick in cannabis sales on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Pretty much, it was a social phenomenon with a name attached to it.

Because other shopping holidays occur around the same time, such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it only felt appropriate to call it "Green Wednesday."

What to Expect From Green Wednesday

We're not going to give too many details just yet. But for Green Wednesday, Hometown Hero will offer some sweet discounts on some customer favorites. 

Plus, you can guarantee that we'll have other deals running through Black Friday, the rest of the weekend, and Cyber Monday. 

But if you plan on picking up some of your favorite goodies from us on Green Wednesday, expect it to be more of a "holiday prepping stash" vs. a stash for Thanksgiving since it's going to be shipped to your home.  

However, at least you won't need to leave the house! Since hemp is federally legal, it can be bought online with credit or debit and shipped across state lines to your front doorstep!

So that pretty much wraps things up as far as Green Wednesday goes!
